Jannina attended Seton Hall University for her undergrad and received her J.D. from Rutgers Law. She is bi-lingual with native fluency in Spanish and admitted to practice in Florida. Jannina started her legal career working as a prosecutor, Assistant State Attorney, for the Special Crimes Division of the Miami Dade County State Attorney’s Office, trying domestic violence cases. She then transitioned to the private sector in NYC, where she did consulting work in eDiscovery/managed review services for top firms like Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. During this time she obtained experience working on large litigation matters; specializing in investigations/DOJ requests and foreign language cases.
Jannina then accepted a role at Barclays as an in-house eDiscovery Attorney in the Investigations & Enforcement Litigation practice group. Here she became our client and worked closely with BH’s MRS teams for several years. While at Barclays, she eventually transitioned to Vice President of Markets Risk & Control, working directly with trading desks globally; including Americas, Asia, Europe and Africa. Jannina was instrumental in implementing policies and procedures at Barclays to ensure compliance with securities and trading laws/requirements. She successfully implemented communication barrier technology during the sell-off of the Barclays Africa Division and also developed data privacy policies and ensured Barclays was in compliance with these. Jannina has been working with our BH team for over a year on a temporary basis as a Lead Project Manager and has been working closely with our teams.
Outside of business hours, Jannina volunteers as an Immigration Attorney through The Immigration Justice Campaign & The Safe Passage project. She provides legal immigration advice and services to families, as well as translation services. Born and raised in NJ, she loves to travel and read, and is a mother of two children. Jannina also fosters pets through Pupstarz Rescue.
