Server Support and Development
Challenge
Our client, a Dutch multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Amsterdam, needed to bring its server infrastructure back in-house.
Solution
Beacon Hill Technologies supported this client’s server infrastructure transition. We installed, supported, and upgraded the training environments on IBM AIX and Windows server environments. We also created scripts using UNIX SHELLS, SED, and AWK to collect system configuration data for disaster recovery and system auditing purposes. Additionally, our team setup, maintained, and decommissioned UNIX / LINUX systems in a heterogeneous environment comprised of UNIX, LINUX, Windows and ISERIES (AS400) systems with most connected to an EMC symmetrix or IBM ESS SAN.
The Results
Overall, we improved operational expenses by consolidating older UNIX systems onto cost effective Linux systems and decommissioning unnecessary systems.
