Marisa L. Simmons, Esq. is Practice Manager of Beacon Hill Legal’s southeast region for direct hire attorney search. Ms. Simmons manages a group of direct hire attorney recruiters and runs the same full desk herself. Her group focuses on recruiting and placing attorneys in not only law firms large and small, but also with in-house legal groups throughout the region.
Ms. Simmons joined Beacon Hill in 2019 with a mission to build out the company’s direct hire attorney search team, which, at the time, only served the Northeast and New England. Ms. Simmons immediately started hiring experienced attorney recruiters while also running a full desk. Within two years, she built the group to over $1.5M, a revenue that continues to grow. Her group now boasts recruiters in markets throughout the southeast, spanning Washington, D.C., Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. Ms. Simmons’ team takes a consultative and creative approach to finding the right attorneys to join their clients, whether it be with the largest U.S. law firms, specialized boutiques, or companies in any number of industries. They have successfully placed associates, counsels, and partners with law firms, as well varying levels of attorneys through general counsels at companies throughout the southeast.
Ms. Simmons’ recruiting career began in 2014 with one of the largest publicly traded staffing companies in the world, where she also focused on direct hire attorney search. Before that, she was a practicing attorney in Atlanta, Georgia for six years. Ms. Simmons received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and holds a B.S. with honors in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology. Ms. Simmons volunteers with her law school providing interview and resume advice to students. She is also a member of the Lawyer’s Club of Atlanta, is actively involved with Career Up Now, and sits on the Board of her daughters’ school.
