Beacon Hill Technologies Division Director Luke Walker Quoted in Philadelphia Business Journal
February 10th, 2017
Luke Walker, Beacon Hill Technologies - Philadelphia Division Director, was recently quoted in a Philadelphia Business Journal article from February 9, 2017, entitled “Tech Jobs: How to Keep the Talent @ Home.” The article focused on the IT job growth in the region and how to sustain a healthy career network.
In it he explained, “If [employers] want access to the fresh talent, in the city is where it’s at. It’s where they want to be.” Walker went on to cover how many companies are opening up city locations to compete and how one of his clients has decided to completely relocate to the city for more growth. Additionally, he explained the challenges that specific job seekers face in the IT industry as a whole. “I see companies trimming down management so while there’s a lot of hands-on type positions, the management people looking for those kinds of moves end up looking for a while. … There’s a lot of competition for those jobs,” said Walker. “Eventually you get to the top rung and it’s ‘Now what?’”
