Beacon Hill Health and Clinical Resources Arrives in New York

August 13th, 2020

Beacon Hill Health & Clinical Resources, a practice area of Beacon Hill Life Sciences, recently opened its first office in New York, NY. The new practice area will focus primarily on delivering healthcare resources nationwide in roles with limited patient contact, such as care coordination, case management, HEDIS, nursing education, quality assurance, risk, telephonic triage, and utilization review, among other disciplines.

Division Director Robert Palermo

Beacon Hill Health & Clinical Resources enters the healthcare market during a unique and challenging time, characterized predominantly by the COVID-19 outbreak. While the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported an 8% decrease in overall employment between July 2019 and July 2020, 16 of 21 healthcare fields fared better than average1. The majority of segments (18 of 21) also experienced growth from June 2020 to July 2020. Despite high levels of unemployment, the need is still urgent for talented healthcare professionals across the country. For example, the demand for HEDIS Nurses remains glaring – according to the employment website CareerBuilder, there were approximately 10 job postings for every qualified candidate in the United States for this position as of the beginning of August.

Leading Beacon Hill’s Health & Clinical Resources team is Division Director, Robert Palermo. Prior to Beacon Hill, Mr. Palermo was responsible for nationwide business development, as well as building sales and recruitment teams, for the healthcare division of a national staffing company. His dedication to customer service and team-building allowed him to grow his career into leadership within a few years of entering the healthcare staffing field, with his efforts resulting in the significant expansion of his division.

“My arrival at Beacon Hill coincides with a dramatic shift in the healthcare landscape,” says Mr. Palermo. “In the wake of COVID-19, we are faced with myriad questions such as: What will assisted living and long-term care facilities need to do to adapt? How will the education of our nursing professionals evolve? What type of skillsets will our social workers and mental health clinics require in order to help our country heal from the immense mental, physical, and emotional toll that this virus has exacted? While these are daunting challenges, I am passionate about partnering with our managed care organizations, hospital systems, and others in our healthcare universe to provide them with the talent and expertise required to address these challenges.”

“Formally launching Health & Clinical Resources marks a momentous occasion for our division and company as a whole,” notes Ryan Pirnat, Managing Director of Beacon Hill’s Life Sciences Division. “I am excited that Robert will be leading our nationwide Health & Clinical Resources practice – his energy and enthusiasm is the engine behind what will be an increasingly dynamic part of our business.”

Beacon Hill Health & Clinical Resources’ parent Division, Beacon Hill Life Sciences, has grown substantially since its establishment in 2014. Beginning with one office in the Chicago area, Beacon Hill Life Sciences has since expanded to branches in Boston, Colorado Springs, Indianapolis, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, and now New York, in addition to its 14 remote locations nationwide. Originally focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical staffing, the Division has since expanded to service needs in gene therapy, biologics, medical device and diagnostics, food and beverage science, chemical, agricultural, personal care, as well as health and clinical resources. After eclipsing $25 million in revenue, Life Sciences was recently recognized by Staffing Industry Analysts as one of the “Largest Life Sciences Staffing Firms in the US.”
