Direct Hire Support Search: Intellectual Property Legal Secretary Placement

Our Chicago Client needed an intellectual property legal secretary, but they have tough attorneys to work with, and not all secretaries last there.

Challenge

There aren’t a plethora of intellectual property legal secretaries around. Not to mention, the firm looks for candidates that take on additional responsibilities, which limits candidates even more.

Solution

We thought outside of the box to find a candidate with a strong education, an interest in intellectual property, and bits of experience in several areas. We then found a project assistant for an intellectual property department at a large firm and asked the firm administrator to be open minded when she saw the resume.

The Results

We placed one of our top candidates with the client and he’s been quite successful, having been learning new responsibilities and thriving in the role. Since placing him, the client has asked us to use the same mentality to find someone for their corporate department!
