BH Associates® Case Study

High Demand for Temporary Staff

Challenge

Our client, an online art investing platform, was receiving many requests for people to join their app and buy shares of fine art. However, the number of requests they were receiving were outpacing the volume they could field. Prior to the pandemic, the client had never worked with a staffing agency, nor had they ever needed recruiters. They were a relatively young company whose business increased significantly because of the pandemic.

Solution

Our client informed us of their need for twenty appointment schedulers, and they requested a quote. We competed against a few other suppliers; however, the client selected us because we were the most responsive. We talked through the recruiting and hiring process, and within an hour, we had an agreement in place and were tasked with filling the twenty roles in less than five days. All the roles were two-month temporary positions with the potential to extend or convert to permanent roles depending on performance. The roles were very with the potential for burnout, so the client knew it would be necessary to over-fill the training class. After the week-long training, it was expected that about half of the training class would not continue to the full assignment, and we would replace those individuals immediately. We proactively monitored our performance with weekly check-ins with the client and candidates, adjusting our service approach as needed.

The Results

We are pleased to report that we have placed over eighty-five people with this client. Nearly 50 percent of the candidates we placed have been asked to extend their assignments, while several others have outperformed expectations and have been promoted to permanent positions.
