Retained Search and Contract-to-hire Solutions

Challenge

Our client, a biotechnology company, was doubling in size and their talent acquisition (TA) team needed support. They were growing quicker than most in the industry, and the talent they were seeking was in high demand. Our client had a challenge to brand themselves as an employer of choice, in addition to managing day-to-day recruiting and hiring talent.

Solution

We positioned ourselves as a true partner and extension of their TA team for solidifying a non-employee workforce program. We built out a specific function in a retained search solution, which empowered us to assist in growing their technical operations team from research associates all the way up to directors. At the time, this team was one of the most difficult to recruit for due to the competitiveness of the roles in the marketplace.

Separately, we met with TA to determine the best methods to attract employees, as well as where their group could most efficiently spend their time recruiting. With the non-employee workforce, we determined to adopt a contract-to-hire approach that prioritized speed to market and prevented losing candidates due to the time needed to hire internal roles.

Additionally, we attracted candidates by allowing them flexibility throughout the contract portion of their employment with our client. We also introduced our Beacon Hill Solutions function to our client, which they adopted and continue to work with regularly. This has allowed Beacon Hill to have far more visibility across all functions with our client.

The Results

We organized conversations with leaders to make sure we understood what they valued, and that we were on the same page with metrics. Throughout our time working with this client, we have made 220 contract placements and forty-nine permanent placements.
